Northwood Cemetery.
Mrs. King was bom Dcc. 13,
1919, in Chadboum, a daughter of
the late Henry Sidney and Ora Lee
Harrall Blanton. She moved to
Southport from Bolivia in 1957. She
retired from Dosher Memorial Hos
pital, where she was a nurse's aide
for nearly 26 years.
She was the widow of Rufus V.
King Sr.
Her survivors include 10 sons,
Rufus V. King Jr. and Roger Dale
King, both of Southport, the Rev.
Henry King of Thomasville, Albert
B. King of Bolivia, George Lee

a son, Gregory Mark Johnson of
Burgaw; a granddaughter, Courtney

May Atkinson Moore, 89, of
Winnabow, died March 11 in Davis
Health Care Center.
The funeral was March 13 in Mill
Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev.
Avery Lumsden and the Rev. Rocky
Gregory officiating. Burial was in
Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was born Dcc. 27, 1903, the
daughter of the late Caswell and
Selina Ward Atkinson. She was pre
ceded in death by her husband,
William T. Moore, and a son, Bruce
Lee Moore Sr. She was a lifelong
member of Mill Creek Baptist
Church.
Survivors include five sons, Will
iam A. Moore and Robert C. Moore,
both of Wilmington, Jerry M. Moore
and Reggie W. Moore, both of
Winnabow, and Thurman M. Moore

He was born in Onslow County
on April 27,1915, the son of the late
Randsom and Martha Rogers. He
was a member and former pastor of
Town Creek Baptist Church. He has
served as pastor of other churchcs in
both Brunswick and Columbus
counties.

Michael Andrew Carroll, 28, of
Southport died March 11 in Bay
City, Texas.

Carroll was bom April 26, 1964,
in Greenville, S.C., the son of Rob
en T. and Betty Hayes Carroll of
Southport. He moved to Southport
from New London, Conn., 15 years
ago. He was a U.S. Army National
Guardsman and was a health physi
cist with the N.S.S. Numanco.
Survivors in addition to his par
ents include his wife, Barbie Hcwctt
Carroll of the home; a daughter,
Bobbie Rachelle Carroll of the

San Diego, Calif., and Robin Lock

She was bom in Letcher County,
Ky? on Feb. 7, 1931, and was the

She was born in Ontario, Canada,
on May 24, 1928, a daughter of the

LIZZIE MAE LITTLE
Lizzie Mae Little, 93, of Ash,
died March 15 in Occan Trail Con
valescent Center in Southport.
The funeral was to be held Wed
nesday, March 17, at 2 p.m. at New
Life Baptist Church at Ash, with
burial in the church cemetery.
A native of Brunswick County,
she is survived by a great-nephew,
Mark Little of Ash.

William LcGrand Redwine, 77, of
Shallottc, died March 14 at New
Hanover Regional Medical Center,
Wilmington.
The funeral was scheduled for 2
p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at Old
Shallottc Baptist Church, with the
Rev. Ivren Hughes and the Rev.
Giles Butler officiating. Burial was
planned in Brooks Cemetery, Shal
lottc.
A Brunswick County native, he
was the son of the late Willie and
Ora Millikcn Redwine. He was a
World War 11 veteran of the U.S.
Army Air Corps and was a retired
service station owner.
Survivors include his wife,
Shirley Jean Smith Redwine of the

Dozier was the son of the late
Rufus and Blanchie Wilson Dozicr.
He attended Horry County public
schools and was a member of Mount
Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
He operated Dozier Grocery Store
for 20 years.

He was born Sept. 27, 1917, in
Robeson County, a son of the late

wards. He was retired from the U.S.
Air Force.

International Paper Co. in Wilming
ton, where she had served as office
supervisor. She was a member of St.
James Episcopal Church in Shallottc
and was a former member of the
American Business Women's Asso
ciation.

College in Florence, Ala., will be
visiting in the community.

Shallottc Presbyterian Church
will hold a yard, bake and Easter

The church men's group is spon
soring the yard sale and proceeds will
go to the playground fund, according
to spokesperson Nancy Plummcr.
The women's group is planning
the bake and crafts sale. Money
raised will be used for the building
fund. The church is loeated on Main
Street at the south end of Shallottc.
