Double-Ring Ceremony
At Southport Baptist

Gregory Bland were united in mar
riage on Saturday, April 3, at 2 p.m.
at Southpurt Baptist Church. The
Rev. Wayne Trcxler olliciated the
double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Phillip H. Yount of Bolivia.
Parents of the groom are Mr. and
Mrs. W. Harold Bland of Shallotte.
Given in marringe by her parents
and escorted by her father, the bride
wore a full-length formal gown of
white silk shantung featuring a
sweetheart neckline, bouffant
sleeves and basque waist, all acccnt
cd with tiny pearls and sequins. The
full skirt flowed into a cathedral
train trimmed in Alcncon lace.
Her fingertip veil was attached to
a halo of satin flowers and sprays of
pearls. She earned a cascade of pink
sweetheart roses, daisies, stephan
otis and babies' breath.
Angela Hood of Chapel Hill
served as maid of honor. Brides
maids were Dawn Rohde of Wins
ton-Salem, Grctchcn Sullivan of Ra
leigh, Maria Ward of Southport,
Carolyn Wilson of Chapel Hill and
Deborah Roberts of Wilson. They
wore floor-length suits of pink bro
cade featuring leg-of-mutton sleeves
and round necklines accented with
pearls and lace. They carried cas
cades of spring flowers.
Harold Bland served as his son's
best man. Groomsmen were Robin
Dale of Shallotte; Chris Bland, brot
her of the groom, Shallotte; Teddy
Reed, cousin of the bride, Bolivia;
Whitney King of Ash; Stephen
Russ, cousin of the groom, Shallotte.
Claire Hodge, cousin of the bride,
served as flower girl. The rinc bear
er was Kemp Holler, cousin of the
groom.
Music was provided by Pam
Hicks, soloist; Eddie Hicks, organ
ist; and Steve Skillman, trumpeter.
Presiding at the guest register was
Christy Reed, cousin of the bride.
Matthew Walker and Luke Walker,
cousins of the bride, presented the
programs. The wedding was direct
ed by Mrs. Paul Fisher, great-aunt of
the bride.
The bride is a graduate of the
University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill, where she received a
bachelor of science degree in crimi
nal justice. She is employed as the
rape/sexual assault program coordi
nator at Hope Harbor Home.
The groom is a graduate of the
University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill with a bachelor of arts
in secondary education. He is a so
cial studies teacher and men's tennis
coach at South Brunswick High
School.
Following a honeymoon trip to
Charleston, S.C., the couple will re
side in Winnabow.
