it All," an Easter musical by Joe E.

A series of Holy Week services at
the church have traced the final
week of the ministry of Jesus on
earth, with participauon Irom other
churches in the community. Each
service begins at 7:30 p.m. and is
being led by a different church.

The Holden Beach Chapel will
hold its first Maundy Thursday ser
vice today at 8 p.m., led by the pas
tor of the week. The Rev. Dr.
William Smith Jr. of Greensboro.

9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday at the
chapel, which is located on
Rothschild Street across from the
Brunswick Islands Bapt.
The Brunswick Islands Baptist
Church will hold an ecumenical sun
rise service at 6 a.m. Easter at the
Holden Beach Pier.
Participants arc asked to bring
their own lawn chair.
The message will be brought by
the Rev. Jack Hancox. pastor, with
spccial music by the Brunswick
Islands Baptist Church Choir and by
the Missionaircs gospel group.
ColTcc and doughnuts will be
served after the service.
The South Brunswick Interchurch
Council is encouraging member
churches to support this ecumenical
service unless they have an early
service of their own.
Ocean Isle Chapel
At Ocean Isle Beach, the Rev.
Mike Shrcve, an evangelist from
Cleveland, Tcnn., will lead an 8:30
a.m. service on the strand and the 11
a.m. worship scrvice in the Ocean
Isle Beach Chapel near the town hall.
One mile west of the pier between
the Duneside and Driftwood beach
accesses, Shallotte Presbyterian
Church will sponsor the 8:30 a.m.
service it has held on the Ocean Isle
Beach strand for more than 20 years.

Lunar New Year Marked
The Buddhist Assocition of North
Carolina will observe Songkran

New Year. This is a time when chil
dren perform religious ceremonies
in remembrance of deceased ances
tors as well as elders still living.
Construction has begun of the
temple's multipurpose building, and
this year's celebration of the
Songkran festival will support that
construction effort, said a news re
lease from the monastery.
The celebration begins at 9:45
a.m. and continues into the after
noon, with a ceremonial parade and
presentation of gifts, sharing of a
meal and the monks' sermon to the
faithful, "Veneration of our elders."
