Bolivia Man Gets Two
?Year
Suspended
Sentence
For Shooting Woman
A 20-year-old Bolivia man was
given a two-year suspended prison
sentence last week after pleading
guilty to a reduced charge in the
Dec. 18 shooting of a woman who
formerly resided on Randolphville
Road, Bolivia.
Victor Conway Randolph of
Route 2 had been charged with felo
nious assault with a deadly weapon
inflicting serious injury. Last week
in Brunswick County District Court
he pleaded guilty to a charge of mis
demeanor assault with a deadly
weapon.
Randolph was arrested for sh(x>t
ing Octavia Bryant by shinning her
m the left leg with a ,2'2-calibcr rifle.
According to court records, Bryant
now lives in Wilmington.
In addition to his suspended sen
tence. Randolph was ordered to pay
S400 restitution to the hospital that
treated Bryant and S2(X) for his court
appointed attorney. He was put on su
pei vised probation for two years.
Judge Jerry A. Jolly presided over
a criminal session of district court
Tuesday. On Monday, there was an
administrative court day presided
over by Magistrate Elizabeth Lewis.
