Car Wash Planned
West Brunswick High School's
junior class is already thinking about
its senior year and plans for a senior
class trip to the Bahamas.
To help raise money for the trip,
the juniors will sponsor a car wash
Saturday, April 17, from 9 a.m. to 2
p.m. at the Advance Auto Pans store
on Main Street in Shallotte. The cost
is S3 per vehicle.
"They haven't had a senior class
trip in about four years and we want
one real bad," said junior class pres
ident Dan Martin.
Martin said the class is planning a
four-day trip to the Bahamas next
year during spring break or alter
graduation.
Slate Yard Sale

will hold a yard sale ai Brunswick
County Democratic Party Headquar
ters from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday
in advance of the party's county
convention.
Proceeds will go to the precinct to
meet its financial obligations, said

Literacy Council
Is Approved For
Volunteer Funds
The Brunswick County Literacy
Council has received approval of its
VISTA renewal application from the
federal domestic volunteer agency
ACTION.
Three Volunteers in Service to
America will again support the liter
acy council's efforts to provide free,
private assistance to Brunswick
County residents who want to im
prove their basic reading and writing
skills.
As outreach personnel, the V1S
TAs will serve full time for one year
beginning in June and will receive
mileage reimbursement in addition
to a monthly living allowance and
other benefits provided by AC
TION.
