State University and The Milliken Company Present A Public Meeting Who can attend?-Everyone! Purpose-A graduate student class in landscape architecture from N.C. State University will present their designs tor a new neighborhood being developed in Shallotte near the end of Pender Road. The students have devoted their 1993 spring semester to this project. The students are being directed by N.C. State University faculty members Robin Moore and Catherine Alguire. There will be a formal presentation as well as plenty of time for informal discussion and questions from the public. Design Issues-The students have been concentrating on creating a neighborhood that responds to the diverse needs of people for culture, outdoor enjoyment, communion with neighbors, sensitivity to various life stages, pedestrian access to basic daily needs, ecological responsibility, safety and linkages to the existing Shallotte community.
