CLUB BRIEFS Calabash VFW Post To Host Last Covered Dish Dinner Till September Veterans of Foreign Wars mem bers and auxiliarisls from Post 7288 in Calabash hosted the 5th District meeting at the post on Sunday, April 25. The meeting ended with a dinner prepared by the auxiliarisls. Mary Bcncs was awarded a ccrtificatc for the post from the district publicity person. Mary Smith received a cor sage of poppies for good public rela tions efforts. On Saturday, May 15, the post will host its last covered dish dinner until September. The next meeting will be held May 17 at the post. Officers will meet at 6:30 p.m.; the regular meet ing begins at 7:30. May 23 will be installation day for new officers. Beachcombers To Meet The Beachcombers Extension Homcmakcrs Club will meet Wed nesday, May 12, at 10 a.m. at Bon aparte Retreat, Calabash. Members will hear a report on the recent Heritage Skills Workshop in Faycttcvillc. There will be a display of items members learned to make at the workshop. Final plans will be made for International Day on the Nether lands to be held May 22 at Town Creek Community Building. New members are welcome. Refreshments will follow the pro gram, said publicity chairman Tony Santino, and guests are wclcomc. Final Luncheon The Brunswick Ladies Club will hold its final luncheon meeting of the season Monday, May 10, at 12:30 p.m. at The Round Table at St. James Plantation, Southport. The meeting will follow a social gathering starting at 11:30 a.m., ac cording to spokesperson Helen B. Bangs. Breakfast Planned The Calabash Elks Ladies Auxi liary will sponsor a pancake break fast Saturday, May 15, from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the lodge. Rabon, an honor student in her final quarter of BCC's cosmetology program, will use the money to either purchase equipment or further her educa tion in the department's instructor training program. The scholar ship is given annually to a female honor student age 40 or older.
