The yard features a beautiful marsh view and is landscaped with vinca , day lilies, canalilies, lantana and hybiscus. Shrubs include Japanese black pine , Indian hawthorn, oleanders and pittosporum. Uass largets Young Parents A free class on cffcctivc parenting will be offered this summer at Brunswick Community College for parents or soon-to-be parents ages 14 through 21. Sponsored through the Job Train ing Partnership Act (J'lPA) program, the skills class will begin Monday, July 12, and continue through Thursday. Aug. 5. Classes will meet Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The class will cover a variety of skills needed by parents, such as time management, goal setting and basic first aid. Guest speakers will share information about educational opportunities, wellness and public assistance programs. In addition to there being no charge for tuition, books, supplies and insurance, JTPA funds will pay up to $35 a week for child care ex penses. Participants may also be eli gible to receive transportation assis tance. Interested persons are asked to call for an appointment to determine their eligibility for the program. The day included presentation competition in 42 categories and tal ent, said Billy Privcttc, extension 4 H agent.
