" ' I International MONTHLY BANQUET Friday, August 13 at 7 PM Family House Restaurant Main St., Shallotte (Behind Hardees) GUEST SPEAKER: MIKE SIIREVE has been involved in full-time evangelism in the United States and overseas since 1971. Since the time of his conversion, world-wide missionary endeavors have thus far included: Trin idad, Costa Rica, the Bahamas, Haiti, India, Canada and Africa. In 1969, in an effort to find the truth, he began studying under an Indian guru, within six months he was teaching Kundalini Yoga and medi tation techniques, extracurricularly, at five Florida universities. He was also running a yoga ashram. Thank God, the deceptive yoke of mysticism was broken when he was born again. His testimony of deliverance from the occult is a powerful expose of the dangers ana aeceptiveness of the New Age movement. He is the founder/Director of Deeper Revelation Book ? a pub lishing company specifically designed, to help promote and support missionary endeavors worldwide. He is the author of seven books ? Our Glorious Inherit ance, Volumes one through Six, and The Secret of the Fath er, Revealed to Sons. The word evangelistic traces back to an original Greek word euaggelizo which means to announce good news. This definition is certainly the goal of any Mike Shreve Evangelistic Crusade: to zealously and enthusiastically announce the good news that Jesus still saves, heals, delivers and watches over His Word to perform it. The main portion of the Word emphasized relates to the book series authored by Mike Shreve ? Our Glorious In heritance, The Revelation of the Titles of the Children of God. There are over 800 names and titles given to God's offspring. In each service Mike Shreve usually ministers on one or more of these entitlements. Comprehending this revelation is one of the most effective ways for believers to discover who they are "in Christ." Ministry in the gifts of the Spirit is a major emphasis as well. And the end result? What an unforgettable and empowering experience for any Word-loving congregation or Bible School student body! MIKE SHREVE C19M THE BRUNSWICK BEACON! CHURCH ACTIVITIES Member churches of the Bruns wick Baptist Association will be co operating with the N.C. Baptist Men in providing volunteers and money to aid with flood relief efforts along the Mississippi River. "We're going to do a 'mud-out,' said Bill Smith, associational direc tor of missions. "We'll be helping residents clcan their homes out once it slops raining and the flood waters . recede." "I really feel the people here have a heart for those in the Mississippi River area and they want to do something," said Smith. The State Baptist Convention has already sent its disaster relief van to the flood-stricken area to serve meals, as well as S 10,000 for the purchase of a water purification unit that will purify 1 ,000 gallons of wa ter an hour. ' While awaiting word of when volunteers can start reporting for the "mud-out," the state convention is accepting money for the flood relief effort in Mississippi. Gifts from lo cal churches or individuals will be combined and forwarded directly to the North Carolina State Conven tion, then passed along to the Missi ssippi Baptist Convention to help all people in that area, said Smith. "Not one dime of the money will be taken out; every penny will go to flood relief," he said. Smith said the Association will gladly handle flood relief contribu tions from outside its 40-plus mem ber churches in the county as well. "You don't have to be a Baptist to do this," he said. Checks should be made payable to the Brunswick Baptist Associ ation and designated for flood relief. They can be dropped by the Associ ation office on U.S. 17 Business north of Supply or mailed to the Rev. Bill Smith, Director of Miss u 1?
