Leland Man Breaks Into Wife's
Home, Assaults Her With Club
In the second of such incidents in less than
three hours, a 29-year old Lcland man allegedly
broke into his estranged wife's home and assault
ed her early Saturday morning, according to a
crime report on file at the Brunswick County
Sheriff's Department Monday.
Shortly after leaving the scene of an attempt
ed murder and suicide in Calabash (sec related
story), Brunswick County Sheriff's Detective
Tom Hunter was called to investigate another do
mestic disturbance in Leland.
At about 3:23 a.m., Deputy William Hewett's
report said he responded to a report of a breaking
and entering in progress at a woman's home on
Wayne Drive. Arriving with Lcland Police
Officer Roger Greenwood, Hewctt said he ob
served a subject fighting with a man and two
women in the living room.
The three were attempting to lake away the
4-foot-long wooden club with which the intruder
had allegedly assaulted his wife, from whom he
was legally separated, the report said.
Besides breaking into the rear door of the oc
cupied home, "the suspcct also disconnected the
lelephone lines so telephone communication
could not be made in or out of the residence,"
Hewett reported.
The suspect, Randolph Parish, was charged
with first-degree burglary for entering a home
"occupied by five people with the intent to com
mit a felony, to whit: kill his wife."
He was charged with assault with a deadly
weapon against Anita Parish "by striking her in
the chest" with the wooden stick and with assault
on a female "by grabbing her and tearing her
shirt."
In other crime reports on file at the sheriff's
office Monday:

James Dcjuan Faulk, 35, was
found lying dead beside a pool of
blood in a restaurant parking lot near
his wife's mobile home on Beach
Drive at about 12:45, Detective Tom
Hunter said. Nearby was a .25-cal

"From the nature of the wound,

The victim's wife, Pamela Chris
Faulk, was taken to the Brunswick
Hospital with a bullet wound in the
upper right arm. She was later trans

Center in Durham, Hunter said.
During the four months since
their separation, Faulk had been
working and living at a Shallotte
Point oyster house. During that time
he had made several threats to kill
his wife and children and commit
suicide, according to a crime report
filed by BCSD Deputy Cathy
Hamilton.
Friday evening, Faulk had made
several attempts to call and visit his
wife, but she was not at home,
Hunter said. When he eventually
found her there, she asked him to
leave and locked the front door.
A short time later, Faulk used a
spare key to get in through the back
door of the trailer. She asked him if
