Literacy Council Making Plans For Fourth Adult Spelling Bee Brunswick County Literacy Council officers are making plans for the organization's fourth annual Adult Spelling Bee to be held Thursday. Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. at Brunswick Community College in Supply. Sponsors who donate $200 to the nonprofit organi zation can field a team of two spellers to challenge a team representing last year's winning sponsor. The Brunswick Beacon. Scheduled during North Carolina Literacy Month, the bee raises funds and public awareness for the coun cil's program which provides free, private assistance to county residents who wish to improve their basic read ing and writing skills. Conversational Beginning Spanish classes will be offered starting next month through the Brunswick Community College Continuing Education Department. The classes should be especially helpful for those who work with Spanish-speaking persons, a news Spanish Classes release indicated. Also, teachers who have Spanish-speaking students will find the class beneficial.
