Lynn Jerr Wins Carolina Shores Points Tournament Lynn Jerr had 33 points to win the first flight in the Carolina Shores ladies Golf Association points tour nament last Thursday at Ocean Isle Beach Golf Course. Ginnie Derrickson placed second with 28 points. Golfers received one point for net bogey, two for par, three for birdie and five for eagle. Top finishers in the second flight were Ruth Radcliffe with 35 points and Kathy Deming with 34. Gerry Burdick led the third flight with 36 points. She was followed by Ruby Vanderburg with 34. Fourth flight winners were Inky Remais with 36, Evelyn Juskis with 35 and Jane Mahncke with 34. Ruth Radcliffe had the only birdie of the day. Eileen Deehan had low putts with 27. Carding chip-ins were Blanche Johnson at the first hole, Lois How ard at the seventh, Shirley Vazquez at the eighth. Jean Sperry at the 16th and Lois Hargreaves at the 18th. Brierwood Men The team of Bob LaWall, Jerry Lula, Paul Keeley and Charlie Stran sky shot 209 to win the Brierwood Men's Golf Association best ball tournament last Thursday. Teams counted the two best balls on the first six holes, all four balls on the next six and three best balls on the last six. Dave Harper, Don Redding, Ned Dye and Gene Cord isco placed second with 210. On Oct. 25, two teams tied for first place in the Brierwood men's two best ball event. Paul Dunfee, Dave Harper, Jerry Smith and Bob Sterner shot 19-un der-par 125 to tie the team of Howard Scutt, Jack Causer and Bob Allwein. Brick Landing Ladies The Brick landing Ladies Golf Association celebrated Halloween early last week with an "Orange Ball" tournament. Teams played for the lowest score with the orange ball. Team members took turns using the ball on each hole. First place went to the team of June Beck, Rosemary Dobson, Ruth Gardner and Vivian Rowe. Millie Thomas, Terry Ehlers, Betty Bonniol and Martha Cullen tied tor second place with the ioutr - some of Peg Campana, Ursula Sty czynski, Sue Houston and Sue Nelson. Finishing third was the team of Alice Grossman, Joan Behrle, Lor aine Babcock and Marie Barry. Carding birdies were Styczynski, Gardner and Rowe. Chip-ins were reported by Styczynski, Houston and Thomas. Nelson had a hole-in one at the 17th hole. Brierwood Scramble Howard Scutt, Bob Sterner, Bar bara Baxter and George Cleasby shot 33 to win the nine-hole mixed scramble last Thursday at Brier wood. Three teams tied for second place with scores of 35. They were Jerry Lula, Ned Dye, Ellie Scutt and June Cleasby; Greg Bouldin, Jim Guffee and Rita Dugan; Joe Reiter, Alice Micali, Ann Guffee and Sally Dye. Lockwood Shootout Fran Hursh and Ron Steele fin ished at plus 15 to win the Shootout last Wednesday at Lockwood Golf Links. Joe Brust and Fred McGee were second with plus 1014, followed by Perry Morris and Alex Daniel with plus 4 A. Helen Fritz was the best golfer on a non-winning team with plus 8. Ruth's Renegades Members of Ruth's Renegades golf group competed for low gross and low net honors last Thursday at Brierwood. The team of Dot Frey and Ruth Brown had the low gross of 233 and low net of 153. Mary Elliot and Mary Ahearn had the second low gross of 233 and the third low net of 158. Finishing with the third low gross and second low net were Jen Ward and Madeline Mahony with 235 and 155. Ahearn had the individual low gross with 106. and Brown had the low net with 68. CS Travel League Bill McCroskey and Jerry Rubin shot 64 to win the first flight in the Carolina Shores Men's Travel League tournament last Friday at Lockwood Golf Links. Runners-up in the best net ball of twosome event were Dick Stewart and Dan Cuomo with net 67. On a match of cards, third place went to the team of John Ward and Gene Miltner with 69. In the second flight, John Kellen bach and Jim Mahony (blind draw) led the way with a round of 62. The team of Jim Ahearn and Jack Rcc tenwald shot 64 and placed second on a match of cards over Frank Eck ert and Bob Krivos. Brierwood Ninettes Marion Allen fired net 17 to win the Brierwood Ninettes tournament last Friday. Golfers counted scores on their best five holes. Runners-up were Carol Soucie with net 18 and Kay Allwein with 19. Marcia Kartsen had a chip-in at the 16th hole. Allen, Pat Narazinski and Kathy Stoll tied for low putts with 16 each. Hazel Casey was second with 17 putts. Carolina Shores ? Scramble Carl Dino, Rick VanderVeer, Fred Edwards and Gary Molt shot 59 to win the Riverboat Restaurant scram ble tournament Oct. 14 at Carolina Shores. On a match of cards, second place went to the team of Ray Washam, Bob Washam, Jim Ouigley and Dan Curtis with 62. Finishing third, also with 62, was the foursome of Ron Atkinson, Don Atkinson, Ed Duraney and Phil McNelis. Mike Murphy, Joe Baran, Rick Robinson and Keith Stanzel also shot 62 and placed fourth. Ian Glen, Anita Glen, Jerry Till son and Sheila Tillson were named the most fun team with a score of 79. Top finishers in the fourth flight included Wyarian Taylor with net 55 and Betty Neal with 59. June Cleasby and Fran Torgersen tied for third place with 60. Taylor had low putts with 30. Reporting chip-ins were Esther Smith at the first hole; Ginnie Campbell, Cowie and Torgersen at the second: Toni Iossi at the sixth; and Flieg at the eighth.
