Young Asthmatics
Children with asthma will benefit
from Reindeer Romp, a one-mile
walk or run and 5K run Dec. 5 spon
sored by the American Lung Asso
ciation's Cape Fear Region.
The events will be held at Green
field Lake, Wilmington, starting and
finishing at the Amphitheatre at 2:30
p.m. (1 K) and 3 p.m. (5K).
Awards will be given for the best
costumed children, adults and fami
lies. A visit from Santa Claus is
planned, along with refreshments
and entertainment afterward.
Advance registration is $12 for
adults and $8 for children age 12 and
younger and increase to $15 and $10
respectively the day of the romp.
Proceeds will be used to provide
asthma education for parents, teach
ers and others involved in the care
of children with asthma as well as
tor scholarships to summer camp for
children with asthma.
