W hat, No Pilgrims?
Pre-kindergarten students at The Crary School in Shallotte celebrated Thanksgiving dinner Friday without inviting any Pilgrims. Students
(from left) Kaitlin Roycroft, Bryan Powell, Justin Simmons and Kaitlin Bellamy helped teacher Sue Blackburn prepare most of their "fin
ger food" feast, but didn't care much for fresh cranberries that Powell described as " too sour". The youngsters also decorated their own
Indian costumes and made a teepee.

Decision Expected
On Beach Inspector
liolden Beach should have a new
building inspector by the end of the
week, according to Town Manager
Gus Ulrich.
"I'm getting very close." Ulrich
said Monday. "We should have a de
cision by the middle of this week."
Building Inspector Jim McSwain
announced last month that he
planned to resign so he could go into
the construction business. McSwain
has continued to work while the
town searches for a replacement.
"It looks like Jim should be able
to continue until the first of next
month," Ulrich said.
