Are Exchanged In Charlotte
Amanda Lynn Lee and Christ
opher Todd Farris. both of Charlotte,
were united in marriage Saturday,
Nov. 20. at 6 p.m. in Cook's Mem
orial Presbyterian Church in Char
lotte.
The Rev. Steve Bass officiated the
double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Lynn
McClure Le?: and Michael Smith
Lee of Charlotte, and the grand
daughter of Martha S. McClure of
Ocean Isle Beach and Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph H. McClure of Ocean Isle
Beach.
The groom is the son of Betty C.
Farris of Charlotte and C. Jack Far
ris of Stanley.
Both bride and groom are gradu
ates of West Mecklenburg High
School. The groom also attended
Central Piedmont Community Col
lege and is employed with Worth
Keeter Inc. of Charlotte.
The bride is a graduate of the
University of North Carolina at
Charlotte and is employed with the
law firm of Paul H. Kaplan in
Charlotte.
Given in marriage by her parents,
the bride wore a gown of ivory silk
and Alencon lace with an off-the
shoulder lace bodice, long sleeves
adorned with bows, a basque waist
and eyelash edge trim. The full cir
cular skirt, embellished with cascad
ing Alencon lace, formed a cathedral
length train.
She wore her mother's ivory
cathedral-length mantilla as her veil
and carried a candlelight cascade of
lilies, pink and beige roses, ivory or
chid sprays, calla lilies and ivy.
Matron of honor was Tonya Watts
of Matthews. Attendants were
Nancy Parrish of Garner; Terri
Morrison and Kristi Sadler of
Charlotte; and Angie Meshaw of
Greenville, S.C., cousin of the bride.
Two cousins of the bride, Emily
McClure of Monroe and Jenny
Thornton of Charlotte, were junior

Charlotte Woman's Club after the
ceremony.
Following a honeymoon trip to
Florida, the newlyweds will reside
in Charlotte.

At Cookie Course
A course in holiday cookie and
candy making will be offered next
month through the Brunswick
Community College Department of
Community Services.
Taught by Peggy Jordan, the class
will meet Dec. 6, 7, 13 and 14 from
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Students will learn to create deli
cious and attractive sweets that
would make wonderful holiday
gifts, a release indicated. Registra
tion is $15. The class will be self
supporting and must have a mini
mum of 10 paying students.

Will Be Crowned Dec. 4
The Miss Brunswick County Scholarship Pageant will be held Dec. 4
at the Odell Williamson Auditorium on the campus of Brunswick
Community College, according to pageant spokesman Pam Tyner.
The pageant begins at 8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the door
for $7 for adults, and $4 for children 12 and under.
Featured entertainer will be Sandy Oxford, Miss Greater Wilmington
1993. Also performing will be Erinn Holden and the Brunswick County
Dancers under the direction of Ann Hucks.
Others on the program are Tiffani Payne, Miss Greater Wilmington
1994; the South Brunswick High School Color Guard and Drill Team,
Tom Clem moos; Miss Cape Fear Country, Charlene Frankenberger; and
Little Miss Brunswick County, Maleta Murray.
Master of ceremonies will be Chris Scott, son of Raldolph Scott, who
also will perform.
Guest speaker will be Sheila Lee, director of the Miss North Carolina

mony was performed by Pastor Jack
Hancox.
The bride is the daughter of Neil
and Edna Stephenson of Supply.
The bridegroom is the son of
Deborah J. Hollifield of Supply and
David Dexter Ballengee Sr. of
Brooklyn Park, Md.
The bride, given in marriage by
her son, Stephen Neil Duncan, wore
a peach satin gown with drop waist,
bouffant sleeves, scooped ruffled
back and short train. She carried a
bouquet of silk ivory sweetheart ros
es, daisies, carnations, peach pe
onies and carnations.
Maid of honor was the bride's
daughter, Mekeisha Faith Duncan.
She wore a ivory lace tea-length
gown with sweetheart neckline,
short lace sleeves and a dropped
back waist.
Matron of honor was Kimberley
M. Carter of Jacksonville, Fla., who
wore an ivory morey pattern tea
length gown with sweetheart neck
line and drop waist.
Both honor attendants carried
peach nosegays.
Flower girls were Amanda Gail
Smith and Whitney Diane Smith,
both nieces of the groom.
Best man was the groom's broth
er-in-law, Gregory Louis Smith of
Ash. Groomsman was Matthew
Ethan Ruff of Supply, who ushered
the bride's mother and lit the can
dles.

field, Brandon Lee Hollifield and
Donald Ray Nealy. Ring-bearers
were the bride's son, David Joseph
deReyna, who carried her ring, and
the groom's nephew, Gregory Ryan
Smith.

ship hall followed the ceremony.
