Charlotte Is Setting For Lewis-Evans Ceremony Melanie Ann Lewis became the bride of John Roland Evans in a 4 p.m. ceremony Oct. 9 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, with Dr. H. Louis Patrick officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry D. Lewis of Shallotte. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Evans Sr. of Hertford. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of ivory tulle with scalloped V-neckline and back and slightly puffed shoulders which tapered to the wrist. The tit ted bodice was accentuated with a basque waistline and appliques of alencon lace. Small gathers at the waist created a full ball skirt of tulle detailed with appliques of beaded alencon lace. She wore a detachable cathedral-length tulle train connect ed at the waist. Her half-crown-shaped headpiece was worn with front blusher and fin gertip illusion. Matron of honor was the bride's sister. Alison Lewis Bowman of Greensboro. Her maid of honor was Mary Martha Wall of Winston Salem. Bridesmaids were Carol Fleming Cox of Charlotte; Cathy Evans Labianca. sister of the groom, of Fuquay-Varina; and Linda Nadeau List of Charlotte. They wore iris iridescent organza two-piece outfits with full ballerina skirts, pleated wrap collars and dou ble-breasted jackets with rhinestone buttons. Flower girls were Haley Elizabeth Bowman of Greensboro and Jessica Anne Lewis of Shallotte, both nieces of the bride. They wore ivory taffeta full ballerina-length dresses with tulle overlays and satin bows in back. Lloyd Evans Sr. was his son's best man. Groomsmen were Lloyd Evans Jr. of Charlottesville. Va., brother of the groom; Joseph Ab dalla of Raleigh, Bruce Cox of Charlotte, Jeff Collins of Nashville, Tenn.. and Joev Pippin of Chapel Mill. Her bouquet was a cascade of one dozen red roses accented with baby white roses and white carnations, ivy sprays and a pearl-edged white bow. Davia Brown of Greenville, N.C., was her sister's maid of honor. She was also attended by Patti Lowman of Woodleaf, Alisah Robinson of Kannapolis and Carrie Roberts of Kannapolis, cousin of the bride. They wore identical gowns of irides cent emerald green, with off-the shoulder styling and black lace ac cents on the bodice. Maggie Boles was flower girl. The groom's father was his best man. Ushers were Lewis Safrit of Salisbury, brother of the groom; Da vid Brown, brother of the bride; and Mark Roberts of Rockwell. Following the ceremony, a recep tion was held in the church fellow ship hall.
