RECORD OF 5-2 Tornadoes Crush North Brunswick The North Brunswick boys' bas ketball team, off to its best start in years with a record of 5-2. was knockcd down a notch in its Three Rivers Conference opener last Friday. Providing the big blow were the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes, a run and-gun team that has won 52 out of 55 games over the previous two sea sons but is rebuilding somewhat this year. The Tornadoes, who outscored the Scorpions by an average of 105 62 in their two meetings last year, proved they are still a formidable team Friday night in Leland. Damion Page scored 24 points and Anthony Jones added 16 to lead Coach Michael Baker's Tornadoes to a 74-59 win over the Scorpions. Fairmont (9-2). which advanced deep into the state playoffs each of the last two years after winning Waccamaw Conference champi onships. trailed the Scorps 1-0 early but led the rest of the way.
