and Ireland during Wofford's
January interim.
A biology major. Wood is the
daughter of Judith A. Wood of
Fairway Drive. Shallotte.
The travel project is a cultural
tour of England and Ireland with
emphasis on literature and history as
well as art. architecture and music.
In addition to London, there will lx
day trips to Canterbury anil Oxford.
In Ireland, there will be Dublin as
well as an extensive tour ol the west.
The interim is the segment of
Wofford's annual curricular program
conducted during four winter weeks
between the fall and spring semes

completed its most successful
"White Cane Days" fundraising dri
ve in recent years.
"Collecting $2,300 will enable us
to assist more needy, sight-impaired

accepting donations, as w ell as sell
ing raffle tickets to support their

Heart Volunteers To Launch
'D ear Neighbor' Camooion
The Brunswick County Chapter
ol the American Heart Association
(AHA) will begin its annual Dear
Neighbor campaign on l eb. 1.
Approximately 1.200 letters will
be circulated in the area appealing to
the generosity ol residents.
All the ettorts ot Heart Associ
ation volunteers arc geared toward
research and education ol people
about health) lifestyles and the pre
vention of heart disease. The re
search done by AHA has resulted in
most of the treatments now used to
prevent anil treat heart disease.
In both IW1 and IW3. Bruns
wick County had the best total Dear
Neighbor drive donations in all of
North Carolina, said Bill Pons, cam
paign chairman. "Last year our vol
unteers raised approximately
S7.IMM1. We are shooting lor $8,(MM)
this year."
