'Aladdin' On Stage Stage One. the Louisville Chil dren's Theatre, will perform "Alad din" live on stage Saturday. Feb. 5, at Thalian Hall. Two one-hour performances will be given at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. "Aladdin." adapted by Moses Goldberg from the Arabian Nights table, creates an atmosphere of mag ic with mystical sets, fanciful cos tumes and imaginative movement. The production, directed by J. Daniel Herring, features an evil ma gician. the sultan's beautiful daugh ter. gold jewels and a genie in a lamp. Characters spin and ease the set pieces into place during choreo graphed scene changes. Characters step in and out of scenes from be hind screens, and a mysterious prop master glides from scene to scene providing sound effects and magical props. Stage One is a company of pro fessional actors, directors, adminis trators. designers and educators who bring live theatre to young people and their families. Since ll>K7. Stage One has toured nationally, traveling throughout New Lngland. the South and Midwest.
