JESSIE THOMAS REAVES Jessie Thomas Reaves, 37, of Longs. S.C., died Jan. 17 from in juries sustained in an automobile ac cident. The funeral was Jan. 20 in the Coble Ward-Smith Chapel at Sup ply, with the Rev. Larry Ward offici ating. Burial was in Manley Bennett Cemetery. Reaves was born in New Hanover County on Oct. 10, 1956. the son of the late Jessie Edward and Gracie Reaves. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife. Burial was in Brunswick Memorial Gardens. Mr. Sabiston was the son of the late David Wilbur and Annie Are nell Sabiston. He w;is retired from the Brunswick County Schools Bus CJarage. Previously he was em ployed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the dredge Currituck during construction of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway and was a machinist at the Naval Shipyard in Norfolk, Va., during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Bennett Sabiston; two sons, David I. Sabiston and Bridges A. Sabiston jr.. both of Shallotte; a sis ter, Annie S. Murden of Dade City, Ha.; and three grandchildren. Rhonda Sabiston and Donnette Gol der, both of Durham, and Sheila Hewett of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. HAROLD C. STRICKLAND Harold C. Strickland, 75, of Card inal Care Center of Shallotte died Jan. 19 in The Brunswick Hospital. A private inurnment service was held Jan. 25 in Wilmington National Cemetery, Wilmington. Mr. Strickland was born in Franklin County, Ga., on Oct. 12, 1918. the son of the late Marco and Willie Hrown Strickland. He was employed for many years with Gas ton County Schools. He was a ser geant with the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II. Survivors include a son, Mark Strickland of Charlotte; and a daughter, Paula Mitchell of Myrtle Beach. S.C. JEANNE B. WILSON Jeanne Bliss Wilson, 47, of Ash, died Jan. 20. A memorial service was conduct ed Jan. 25 at St. Jam^s the Fish erman Episcopal Church, Shallotte. Born Aug. 6, 1947, in Pittsburgh. WILBUR GAINES HOLDEN Wilbur Gaines Holden, 76, of Brown's landing. Supply, died Jan. 23 at The Brunswick Hospital. Burial was in Holden Cemetery. Mr. Holden was born in Bruns wick County on May 21, 1()17, the son of the late George Washington and and Florence Lewis Holden. He was a member of Sabbath Home Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II in the South Pacific. He was a retired farmer and an avid gardener.
