Jailed Man Gets Another 5 Months For Writing Bad Check A 23-year-old inmate of New Hanover County Jail had another live months added to his sentence last week alter pleading guilty in Brunswick County District Court to a charge of writing a worthless check to a Shallottc electronics store. About a month later, a warrant was issued for 1-iimpkins' arrest. Rut the deputy was unable to serve the paper because I ampkins was al ready in jail, court records show. Judge Napoleon Barefoot Jr. sen tenced l.ampkins to five months in the North Carolina Department of Corrections to run at the expiration of any sentence he is now serving. Barefoot presided over three days of district court last week. Assistant District Attorney Rick Green prose cuted. while Marie Jordan served as courtroom clerk.
