Hewett Jr. were united in mar riage Jan. 1 at 2 p.m in Faith Apos tolic Church of Nakina. The Rev. William Bacorn officiat ed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Miles and Faye Jackson of Ocean Isle Beach, formerly of Lumberton. The groom is the son of Jack H. Hewett Sr. of Ocean Isle Beach, Karen Paine of Raieigh, and Ronald and Betty Shugart of St. Augustine. Fla. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of taffeta with a fitted bodice of lace over taffeta, accented with pearls. Her chapel-length, multi tiered veil trimmed with silk roses and pearis complemented the gown. She carried a bouquet of royal blue roses and white daisies, with match ing silk streamers. The groom's aunt, Marie Pate of St. Augustine, Fla., fashioned the bride's bouquet and those of her attendants. Wanda Smith of Shallotte served as matron of honor, while Jeanette Mewett. the groom's daughter, was honorary bridesmaid. Both wore royal blue silk tea-length dresses overlaid with lace. Thev carried bouquets of royal blue, mauve and white flowers with streamers and pearl sprays. Best man was Johnny Smith of Shallotte. Groomsmen were Major Hewett of Shallotte and Jeff Mewett of St. Augustine. Fla., brothers of the groom, 'l "he men in the wedding pyly wore charcoal gray tuxedos.
