Stanley-Green Wedding Takes
Place In Duke University Chapel

15 at 4 p.m. in Duke University
Chapel by the Rev. Susan D. brinks.

Danny and Gave Stanley of Shal
lotte. The bridegroom is the son of
Roger and Brenda Green of Glas
gow. Kentucky.

In her son. Matthew Babson. She
wore a formal white taffeta wedding
gown trimmed with a fringe of deli
cate pearls and fashioned with hand
beaded. scquined bodice that ex
tended to a deep V-back. Her lace
edged skirt bustled at the waistline
and swept into a chapel train deco
rated with lace motifs. She carried a
cascading bouquet of red roses ac
cented with baby's breath.
Attending the bride as maid of
honor was Samantha Lewis of
Supply. She wore a long black satin
gown trimmed in white and carried
a bouquet of long-stemmed white
roses.
Timothy Berry of Kalamazoo.
Michigan, was the best man and
wore a formal black tuxedo with
cummerbund, bow tie and tails.
Ushers were Keith Stanley, broth
er of the bride, and Timothy Green,
brother of the groom, both of
Raleigh. The register attendant was
Vieki Britt of Clayton.
Music was provided by Duke or
ganist Dr. David Arcus, and the
wedding was directed by Taylor
Shaw.
A dinner reception was held at
Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club
with live entertainment provided by
Jesse Johnson of Sanford. After the
reception, the couple left on a wed
ding trip to Nassau. Bahamas, and
Denver. Colorado.
The bride is a graduate of Wake
Tech with an associate degree in sci
ence and is currently employed by
Rex Hospital of Raleigh as a radio
logic technologist.
The bridegr(K>m is a graduate of
the University of Michigan with a
bachelor's degree in mechanical en
gineering. He is employed by Cater
pillar Inc. of Clayton and is near
completion of his master's in busi
ness administration at Duke Uni
versity's Fuqua School of Business.
Events prior to the wedding in
cluded a shower for the bride, given
by friends from Rex's Radiology
Department on Dec. 11 and a re
hearsal dinner, hosted by the
groom's parents, on Jan. 14.
The couple will make their home
in Cary.

Donald and Ivy Gates of Ash have announced the engagement and
forthcoming marriage of their daughter. Ivy Irene Gates, to Patrick
DostaI of Omaha, Nebraska. Miss Gates is the granddaughter of
Mr. and Mrs. K.T. Bliss of Ash and Ivy and Dalton Best, also of
Ash. She is a graduate of West Brunswick High School and is a se
nior at VNC-Wilnungton majoring in criminal justice. Her fiance
is a noncommissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps
currently serving with the Sixth Fleet in Somalia. The wedding is
planned for July at Saint James Church in Shallotte.
