A 21-year-old man from Camp
Lcjcune was charged with driving
left of center Friday evening after
his 1987 GMC truck ran off N.C.
130 near Holden Beach and broke a
Driver Thomas Allen Sawyer Jr.
was transported to the Brunswick
Hospital in Supply with serious, hut
not incapacitating, injuries.
According to the report filed hy
Trooper R.L. Murray, the accident
occurred at approximately 5 p.m. 2.7
miles west of Holden Beach. The
road was temporarily closed to traf
fie bccause of the downed utility
Sawyer was traveling east on
Holden Beach Road when his truck
ran off (he road on the left and
slammed into a utility pole, breaking
the pole and stopping on impact.
Damage to his truck was estimat
ed at S5,5(K).
No charges were filed in either of
two one-vehicle accidents Thursday,
