George C'leasby. Dick Baxter, Sara McCullough; Joe Reiter, Bob Hoke, Audrey Salmon. Barbara Baxter; Bill Shoemaker. Andy Micali, Mary Nicol. Sally Dye; and Burley Athan, Hugh McCullough. Molly Hoke. Doris Mosley. Sea Trail Men The team of Ray Washam, Wayne Ruff, John 1 .awrcnson and Dave Llewellyn shot 130 to win the Sea Trail Men's Golf Association tour nament last Tuesday on the Maples course. Teams counted the low gross score ami low net score on each hole, using 9(1 percent handicaps. The winners finished 14 strokes un der par. Placing second with a score of 13ft was the foursome of Roger Ixmg, Willie Criswell. John Gregory and Bill Jones. Ron Schadle. George Gallop. Joe Carpincllo ami Dutch Gcescy fin ished fourth with 137. John Ewart. Gene Bilz, Bill Burkart and John Pen fie Id shot 139 and tied for fifth with the team of Ron Reopel. Tom Coniglio and Gene Connelly. They used a blind draw for the fourth score. Brierwood Ladies Nancy Bouldin shot net 54 to lead the first flight in the Brierwood l adies Golf Association tournament last Tuesday. Golfers did not count scores on their four worst holes and used half handicaps. Ethel Brown finished second in the top flight with 54.5. {jolting Action ci .i .Ci Rose Rciter had Iow putts with 27. Pop finishers in Ihe sccond flight were Janice Owens with net 54.5 and Pierrette Tompkins wilh 62.5. Carolyn McCroskey had low putts with 32. Fmily l.aughlin led the third flight with a net score of 56. and she also had low putts with 29. Livelyn Wuthrich was second with net 63. Reporting chip-ins were Brown and McCroskey at the second hole and Reiter at the 18th. Sara McCullough and Owens both made birdie at the third hole. Calabash Veterans Curly Rotherforth. Chester Drouin, Art Paige and John Pape shot 68 to win the Calabash Veterans Golf Association tournament last Friday at Olde Fort. f inishing second in the captain's choice event, also with 68, was the team of John Marcotte. Hal Riebesehl, Bill Seip and Al Paraska. Third place went to Don Critz. Alan Kletchka. Bernie Strceter and John Welch with 68. The top three places were decided on a match of cards. On March 25, the Calabash Veterans competed for individual low gross and low net honors at Olde Fort. In the first (light, top finishers were John Marcotte with gross 70 and Walter Benes with net 61. Lockwood Shootout Kudv Normandin and John Nash South Wins Golf Match South Brunswick's golf team posted a total of 314 to win a four-team, non-conference match last Wednesday at Oak Island Country Ciub. Wilmington Laney finished second with 340. Topsail placcd third with 370 and North Brunswick took fourth with 430. South Brunswick's Tommy Warren was the tournament medalist with a round of 76, and Mark Johnson fired a 78 for the Cougars. Zach Miller led North Brunswick with an 84. finished at plus 131* to win the shootout last Wednesday .it Lockwood Golf Links. Ian Alexsander and Mac Adams placed second at plus 121*. Other top teams were Bill Johnston and Fred McGee at plus III and John Johnson and Wendell Hughes at plus Jerry Justice finished at plus X and was the top golfer on a non-winning team. Brierwood Men The team of Joe Reiter, Bernie Gruzlewski, Gene Cordisco and Paul Keeley shot 187 to win the Brierwood Men's Golf Association tournament last Monday. Each group counted the three low net scores on each hole, and the win ning team finished 29 shots under par. Finishing five strokes hack in sec ond place was the team that included Jerrv Smith. Barney Martin and Jim Ke lie her. John Martucci, John C'owie. Hurley Athan and Lmile Vrydaghs shot 193 and tied for third with the team of Bill Pingo, Neal McC'all. Jack Bubb and Boh Sterner. Carolina Shores Men Boh Ijovaty fired net 69 to win the Carolina Shores Men's Golf Association individual low net tour nament last Thursday at Bay Tree. Other top finishers were John Crane and Bill Marsh with rounds of 71 and Bob Rcmais and Bruce Kibblehouse with 72. Pat O'Neill fired net 67 to win the men's golf association tournament last Monday at Ocean Isle Beach Golf Course. Runners-up in the individual low net event were Lee Gould with 70. Dick Brooks with 73 and Bern Distler with 74. Brierv/ood Ninettes Kay Allwein shot net IX to win the Brierwood Ninettes tournament last Friday. Golfers counted scores on par 4 holes only.
