ficials of North Carolina cities and towns at the N.C.
League of Municipalities regional meeting scheduled to
convene Wednesday, April 20, at 4:30 p.m. at the Ship's

A preview of priority issues for the upcoming short
session of the General Assembly and a briefing on fed

The league is a non-partisan federation of 503 cities,
towns and villages in North Carolina; many Brunswick

for municipal interests at the state and federal levels, and
provides services to member municipalities.
The regional meeting was to include updates on state
legislative activities, including the crime session, study
commission activities and priority issues for the short
session beginning May 24, especially preservation of
municipal revenue sources. A briefing of federal topics
affecting North Carolina cities and towns was to include
health care reform, amending the Safe Drinking Water

threaten local franchise revenues, the mail order sales
tax and unfunded mandates.
