Supply PTA Seeks Hardback
Books For School's Library
Supply Elementary School PTA
will hold a book drive May 5 and 6
in an effort to collect the 7,000 addi
tional hardback books the school
needs to meet regional accreditation
standards this fall.
The school must have a minimum
of 10 hardback books for each stu
dent on its membership rolls, said
Susan Gibble, a member of the
PTA's Library Committee.
Volunteers will be at the school
next Thursday and Friday during
school hours to receive donations of
books and show visitors around the
school. Other collection points will
also be designated.
Books should be for students in
pre-kindergarten through elcmentarv
grades. While hardback books are
needed, donations of paperbacks are
also welcome.
Donors who cannot drop books
off at Supply Elementary during
school hours are asked to call the
school at 754-7644 to make other
arrangements.
As a new school, Supply Ele
mentary is provisionally accredited
by the Southern Association of Col
leges and Schools. The school's first
accreditation self-study report is due
into the association this fall, with a
site visit planned in Spring 1995.
The PTA wants the library books
in hand as soon as possible and "ab
solutely must have them before the
site visit," said Gibble.
