N.C. Aquarium in Wilmington, will
he guest speaker at the next Bruns

The meeting takes place at 7:30

The club's annual picnic will be
held May 21 at the Waccatte Zoo

Shallotte Women of the Moose
arc planning their annual yard sale
for Saturday, May 28 at the Moose
Lodge on N.C. 130 East, Holden
Beach Road.
The sale will get under way at 8
a.m.
Proceeds from the event will as
sist in funding various projects
sponsored by the local WOTM
chapter.

items for the sale and arrange for

The Shallotte Lions Club will
hold a fund-raising barbecue dinner
Saturday, May 28, from 1 1 a.m. to 4
p.m. in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
Main Street, Shallotte.
Plates will include chopped pork
barbecue, coleslaw, baked beans,
hushpuppies and tea for $4 per per
son.
Proceeds will be used to help the
visually impaired.

benefit yard sale Saturday, May 21,
from 8 a.m. until noon in the
Brunswick office of Well Care Nurs
ing Services.
The site is on U.S. 17, the build
ing which housed the old Supply
Post Office.
Proceeds will go toward paying
for annual nursing studeni scholar
ships.
Donations are being accepted in
the Well Care offices.
The association represents nurses
in Brunswick, New Hanover and
Pender counties.

Concert
Tuesday
The Brunswick Concert Band will
present its sixth annual spring con
cert on Tuesday, May 17, at 7 p.m.
in Centennial Center, 8th and Lord
streets, Southport.
Featured selections will include
excerpts from me opera "Carmen "
and a rock number. "Stick Fingers, "
featuring George Schneider on gui
tar. The program also will include
jazz and big band numbers and
marches.
There is no admission charge, but
donations will he accepted. The
band is directed by Paul Pittenger.
