Shell Point Man Charged
With Shallotte Break-Ins
Shallottc Police have made an ar
rest and recovered one of three boat
motors that were stolen during two
break-ins at Shallotte Marine Sup
plies in December and January.
Robert Christopher Hcwett. 21, of
Shell Point, was changed !ast Friday
with two counts of breaking and en
tering and larceny, said Shallotte
Dct. Carey Gaskins.

Worthless Check
Shallotte Police arrested a local
man Monday in connection with an
518,000 worthless check written last
summer.
Gaskins said David Wayne
Brown, 35, of Shallotte. has been
charged with a felony in connection
with a check written last August at
Shallotte LuiTlbcf Co.
Suspect Charged
Shallotte Police also have arrested
a local man suspected of stealing
fishing reels and portable drills from
Shallotte Electric on April 19.
Ulysses Harrington, 44, of Cedar
Grove, was arrested last Wednesday
and chargcd with possession of
stolen property, Gaskins said.
Gaskins said a sccond arrest war
rant in the ease has been drawn hut
had not been issued as of Tuesday
afternoon.
Radios Recovered
Shallotte police have recovered a
pair of portable, two-way radios that

and an arrest is pending. Gaskins
said.
One of the radios was taken April
23 from the Shallotte Volunteer
Rescue Squad building and the other
was stolen April 20 from a
Brunswick County EMS ambulance
parked at Autumn Care.
Stolen Car Located

covered a 1989 Pontiac Grand Am
that was stolen Aug. 7, 1992. The
vehicle was owned by Paul Wayne
Miller of Shallotte.
"We recovered the vehicle in
Lumberton. No arrest has been
made in that case yet," Gaskins said.
"It's been pretty much stripped It
war. at a used car dealer in a salvage
yard."
