WILLIAM S. DURR JR. Capt William S. Dun Jr., U.5. Navy retired, 71. of Carolina Shores, died May 4 at the Medical Univer sity in Charleston, S.C. He was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., Aug. 23, 1922, son of the late William S. and Caroline Keller Durr. Mr. Johnston was born May 26, 1905, in Charlotte, the son of the late Matthew McCamie Johnston and the late Alice McLean Johnston. He retired from J.B. ivey and Co. in 1969 after 33 years and started developing real estate at Ocean Isle Reach, where he served three terms as mayor and 18 years on the town council. Johnston was a lifelong member of Hickory Grove Methodist Church where he served as church school superintendent for 17 years and for whom the Homer Lee Johnston Library was named.
