David Clay Grice, 29, James Fre
drick Lee, 28, and Tferry Emery Lee,
24, all of Route 3, Tabor City, were
charged with felonious breaking and
entering, larceny and larceny of a
firearm for breaking into a home on
North Shore Drive last October.

three made off with a 12 -gauge au
to-loading shotgun, more than
S 2,200 worth of fishing equipment,
numerous hand tools and power
tools, several tattles of liquor and
more than $1,100 worth of wine, in
cluding 18 bottles of Pouilly Fuisse
valued at $540.
In a plea bargain arranged by ih-ir
attorney R.C Soles, the three men
were allowed to plead guilty to the
iesser offenses of misdemeanor
breaking and entering and larceny.
The third felony charge was volun
tarily dismissed.
Grice and the two Lcc brothers
were sentenced to four years in
prison, suspended two years on the
condition that tbey each pay a fine
of S200, court costs and a communi
ty service fee. They were ordered to
remain gainfully employed and to
perform 72 hours of community ser
vice within 90 days.
The men were also ordered not to
possess or consume any illegal
drugs. They will be required to sub
mit to blood, chemical and urine
tests upon request and to allow .war
rantless searches of their persons,
homes and automobiles for the peri
od of their suspended sentences.
They were put on supervised pro
bation for two years.
Judge Napoleon Barefoot Jr.
presided over three days of district
court last week, while Judge Jerry
Jolly heard eases Thursday. District
Attorney Rex Gore and assistant DA
Rick Green prosecuted. Marie
Jordan served as courtroom clerk.
