Llewellyn Wins Playoff For Sea Trail Women's Title
Joan Llewellyn edged Pat Reid in
a sudden-death playoff to win the
championship flight in the Sea Trail
iuidies Golf Association's club
championship last week.
A playoff was used to determine
the winner in four of the six flights
in the second annual championship
held Wednesday and Thursday on
the Jones course at Sea Trail.
A field of 45 women competed in
five flights and played 18 holes each
day. There also was a nine-hole divi
sion in which golfers played a total
of 18 holes over the two days.
In the championship flight.
Llewellyn and Rcid each finished
regulation with scores of 176. Llew
ellyn won the playoff to repeat as
champion, and Reid repeated as run
ner-up
Jackie Dent took top honors in the
first flight with a two-day total of
179. She was followed by Robin
Walters with ! 84.
Jill Wilson defeated Marti Tittle
in a sudden-death playoff to capturc
first place in the sccond flight. Both
women finished with 36-hole totals
of 207.
Irene Jones led the way in the
third flight with a score of 212.
Dorothy Cambria finished four shots
back in second place.
The fourth flight also was decided
in a playoff with Marge Gallop tak
ing first place and Nin Consalvi sec
ond. Both women had scores of 215.
In the nine-hole division. Marie
Blanda gut past Flo Ruff in a playoff
to earn top honors. Both women had
scores of 122 for 18 holes.

Brierwood Scramble
The team of Jim Bryant. Norm

mixed scramble last Wednesday at

Pierrette Tompkins led the way with

Second place went to May Robert
son and Martha Wareheim with 56.
Firing 58 and placing third were

Robertson had low putts with 31.
Dunfec chipped in for birdie at
the 14th hole and birdicd the sixth.
Also carding birdies were Lang at
the second hole and Robertson at the
14th.

mons at the third hole. Robertson at
the fourth. Dugan at the seventh.

Islands Home Builders Association

four-person team, and a buffet lunch
is included. The tournament will
feature closest-to-the-pin and long
drive contests. There will be a grand
prize drawing for a set of PING golf
