The panel, which meets again today (Thursday) at 7 p.m. at Sea Trail's Maples Clubhouse, committed last week to a compre hensive stormwater management program for which it hopes to ob tain state and county participation financially and through public education. World War II Veterans As part of its commemoration of the SOth anniversary of VJ Day, the Battleship North Carolina is plan ning a new exhibit, "Through Their Eyes," which will focus on the end of World War 11. The memorial is currently looking for native North Carolinians who are World War II veterans and would like to be considered for inclusion in this display. To be considered, the following information should be submitted, either typewritten or legi bty printed: ? Full name ? Current address and telephone number ? North Carolina county in which service member enlisted ? WWII branch of service ? Highest rank or rate held ? Service number ? List of units assigned to during the war and dates of service in each ? Six County Seniors Are BCC Presidential Scholars Six Brunswick County high school seniors have been chosen to reccivc $500 Brunswick Community College Presidential Scholarships for the 1 004-05 academic year. The scholars are Machalin A. Blue and Brian K. Chestnut, West Brunswick; Tracy Coates and Michael C. Oxford, South Brans wick; and Masheka S. King and Donald H. Wat kins. North Bruns wick. Each was recognized at their respective high school awards cere monies. Machalin Blue of Shallotte ranked 12th in her graduating class, was been active in peer tutoring, the Prom Promise Committee and the National Honor Society. She plans to enroll in the Administrative Office Technology program. Music has been Supply resident Brian Chestnut's main interest at West. He played the trumpet in the Senior Pcrcussion Ensemble and in a brass quartet, and has served as squad leader and dram major with the school band. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Prom Promise Committee and the Latin Club, and works for Hardee's at Supply. He plans to earn an associate degree in business comnuter nroerammins at BCC. Tracy Cost?? grschistcd with * 3.59 grade point average at South Brunswick, where she served as Student Government Association president, was a peer tutor and member of the National Honor So ciety, Debate Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The Win nabow resident also played basket - bail, voiieybail and sottbali. Michael Oxford of Long Beach has been a dually enrolled student at BCC while in high school. A mem ber of the National Fraternity of Student Musicians, he is an accom plished pianist.
