Third Conviction Gets Leland Trespasser Six Months In Prison b was three strikes and you're out for a 23- year-old Leland man sen tenced to six months and 30 days in jail last week after being convicted of trespassing for the third time. Ariyn Dion Vernon of Old Blue Banks Road was found guilty of second-degree trespass and commu nicating threats during a trial in n? County District Court Thursday. He was accused of going onto the property of Charles W. Field Sr. on Vernon Drive and telling him, "I'm going to kill you." Court records indicate that \fer non was twicc convicted of trespass ing in October and November 1993. Vernon is currently on probation for an April 1993 conviction for as sault with a deadly weapon with in tent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was given a suspended 13-year prison sentence in that case. One of the conditions for Vernon's release was that he not commit a criminal offense for five years. Judge Napoleon Barefoot Jr. pre sided over four days of district court in Bolivia last week. Assistant dis trict attorneys Lee Bollinger and Rick Grccn prosccutcd. while Marie Jordan and Lisa Aycock served as courtroom clerks.
