Johnson Participates In Reading Exams
Mclba Johnson, an English in
structor at West Brunswick High
School in Shaltottc, participated
June 10-16 in the annual reading and
scoring of Advauced Placement
( AP) examinations in English.
The AP program, sponsored by the
College Board, gives high school stu
dents a chance to take coUege-level
courses and exams and, based on
their exam performance, to receive
credit and/or advanced placement
when they enter college. Johnson
teaches junior and senior year AP
clases and has taught in Brunswick
County Schools for six years.
The AP Reading allows school
and college educators to exchange
ideas and fosters professionalism
within the discipline, according to a
news release.
As a resuit of her participation as
an AP exam reader, Johnson will as
sist in conducting a workshop for
AP English teachers June 27-30 at
Pembroke State University.
