The anvrd-winning " Volunteers In Blue " 572nd Air Force National Guard Band based at McGhee-Tyson Air Base near Knoxville , Tenn., returns to Sunset Beach to present an open-air concert 7 p.m.-8 pjn.
Sunday, July J, adjacent to the oceanfront gazebo at the foot of Sunset Boulevard. Sponsored by the Sunset Beach Beautification Committee, the concert will feature a program of patriotic music and marches,
rock and roil, rhythm and blues and audience requests. Admission is free and attendees are asked to provide their own seating.

The Brunswick County Sheriff's
Department recently singled out the
Pilot Club of the South Brunswick
Islands to reccive its Silver Service
Award for especially meritorious
service.
That "especially meritorious" ser
vice? Continuing support of the
Brunswick Bear program operated
through the Brunswick County
Community Watch Association. The
program provides the bears to law
enforcement officers to use in calm
ing children who have been victims
of accidents, molestation, violence
or some other traumatic experience.
This year the business and profes
sional women's service organization
purchased approximately 50 bears
for the program, said 1993-94 Pre
sident Martha Jo Hall, who accepted
the award.

Washington, ho me ported in Norfolk.
Va., recently participated in the
commemoration of the 50th anniver
sary of D-Day.
Hair is the son of Johnny R. Hair

During the commemoration
Hair's ship visited Portsmouth, Eng
land, and Brest, France. The 1985
graduate of North Brunswick High
School joined the Navy in De
cember 1985.
