Fundraiser Set
In Memory Of
Bolivia Volunteer
A fundraising dinner has been
scheduled in memory of Bolivia vol
unteer firefighter Albert F. "Skeeter"
King, who died July 13 ftom injuries
sustained in an automobile accident.
Members of the Bolivia Volunteer
Fire Department will sponsor the
spaghetti dinner Saturday, July 30,
from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at
Republican Party Headquarters in
Supply. Proceeds of the event will
go to King's family to nelp with fu
neral expenses.
Spaghetti plates will cost S5 for
adults and S3 for children 12 and
under for all you can eat. Free deliv
ery will be available on orders of
five or more plates. To arrange de
livery, call 754-4011 the day of the
dinner.

Up to 75 teachers were selected to
participate in each of the four ses
sions at each site. In many cases,
schools sent teams of teachers and
the school principal

on leadership skills for site-based
decision-making and innovative in
struction." according to a news re
lease from State Schools Super
intendent Bob htheridge. "This is
the first time that North Carolina has
made such an effort to give teachers
the opportunity to be taught by their
peers in an attempt to break down
the walls between theory and prac
tice. The academies feature success
ful teachcrs sharing their best prac
tices."
The program was authorized by
the N.C. General Assembly.
VFW To Fry Fish
Hotdcn Beach VFW Post No.
8866 will hold an "old-fashioned"
fish fry Saturday, July 23, from 11
a.m. until 4 p.m.
Dinncis are S3. 75 each. Proceeds
will go toward the post building
fund to to support local patriotic
events, said spokesman John Nash.
The fish fry will be held near the
Citgo Station on Holden Beach
Road (N.C. 130 East).

August 6
The Town of Sandy Creek will
celebrate Founders Day on Saturday.
Aug. 6, with concessions, a Ford
Mustang car show and entertainment.

ABC Cloggers, AJ Watkins Country
and Gospel, the magic of Ron
Conley, Southern Drawn Bluegrass
Band. Huggie and Kissing the
Roving Clowns and the Original
Range Riders. Bob Fred and Tex.
Miss Brunswick County and four
little princesses will be on hand, as
well as artists and craftsmen show
ing and selling their wares. Crafters
interested in setting up at the festival
