SARA ELIZABETH MINTZ Sara Elizabeth "Si" Mintz of Sunny Trails Road, Leland, died July 12 in Ocean Trails Convales cent Center at Southport. She was born Sept. 20, 1902, daughter of the late Melvin and Harriet Gainey Mintz. She was a member of Elah Baptist Church in Leland. Funeral services were held July 15 in the Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service Chapel by the Rev. Jack Miller. Intermen was in the Gainey Cemetery. KENNETH WAYNE PURDUE SR. Kenneth Wayne Perdue Sr. of Mount Misery Road. Leland, died July 12 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born in Bluefield, W.Va., on April 14, 1938, the son of the late George Oscar Perdue and Ella Bourne Perdue. He was a veteran of ihe U.S. Navy and a past member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 343. He was a retired painter and member of the Gospel Fellowship in Wrightsboro. He is survived by his wife. Sandra O. Perdue of the home; his sons, Kenneth Wayne Perdue and wife San da, all of Inland; and his daugh ter. Kimberly J. Skipper and hus band Kyle, also of Leland; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald R. Perdue of Wilmington and Dallas L. Perdue of California. Funeral services were held July 15 in Andrews Mortuary, Wilm ington, officiated by Brother Ed ward Simmons. EVELYN BENTON NICKEL Evelyn Benton Nickel, 81, of Ash died July 14 at her residence. The funeral was July 17 in The Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Tilley officiat ing. Burial was in Manley Bennett Cemetery. Mrs. Nickel was born in Loris, S.C., on March 1, 1913, to the late Hiram and Ruth Long Benton. Survivors include a son, Dennis H. Nickel of the home; a brother. Tink Benton of Little River, S.C.; a sister. Dare Fisher of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. ALBERT FRANKLIN KING Albert Franklin King, 22, of Green-Lewis Road, Bolivia, died July 13 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held July 16 u! Mr. King was born Dec. 11, 1971, in Wilmington, a son of Albert Ben jamin and Dosha Elizabeth Sellers King. He was employed with Dave's Tree Service of Wilmington, a mem ber of Bolivia Volunteer Fire Department and was of the Apos tolic Pentecostal faith. He is survived by his parents, Albert Benjamin and Elizabkh Sel lers King of the home; a brother, Scott King of the home; two sisters, Beth Caudill and husband William of Bolivia and Lynn King of the home; and a niece, Sarah Lynn Caudill of Bolivia. EDNA MAULTSBY GASKILL FR1NK Edna Maultsby Gaskill Frink, 83, of Old Ocean Highway, Bolivia, died July 13 at her home. Mrs. Frink was born in Bruns wick County on Oct. 30, 1910, and was the daughter of the late Samuel Walton and Geneva Willard Maults by. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of Bolivia and waas the widow of Lenard Gaskill and Marshall Frink. She is survived by a son, Terry Gaskill and wife Janice of Leland; a daughter, Evaglenn Clemmons and husband Bobby of Supply; two sis ters. Evelvn Bell of Bolivia and Ina Corey of Fairfax, Vs.; six grandchil dren; nine great-grandchildren; and two gicai-grci! grandchildren. Ky., on Oct 5, 1934, and was the son of the late Joe and Hannah Bowling Lewis. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Gales; two brothers. Earl and Albert Lewis; and sister, Mary Martin. He was em ployed with Fox Squirrel Golf Course of Boiling Spring Lakes. Uoyd Ben ton and CiifT Benton, all of White ville, and Raymond Benton of Rich mond. Va.; a sister, Louise B. Ray of Tabor City; and nine grandchildren. She was born April 24, 1925. in Longs, S.C., a daughter of the late Rufus C. and Laura Cox Butler. She tr. North Myrtle Reach in 1957 from Florence. Burial was to follow in the Myrtlehead Church Cemetery. CHARLES EDWARD HONEYCUTT Charles Edward Honeycutt, 59, of Mockingbird Place, Shallotte, died July 17 at his residence. He was bom on Dec. 8, 1934, in Salisbury, a son of the late Jasper Clay and Margaret Ludwick Honey cutt. He was the garage manager for Roadway Trucking Company lor 38 years and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Surviving are his wife. Pearl Elizabeth Shouse Honeycutt; two daughters, Cynthia Nicols of Mid way and Terri Honeycutt of Win ston-Salem; a son, Charles C!ay Honeycutt of Pfafftown; three sis ters, Roberta Regan of Granite Quarry, Violet Eagle of Clemmons and Nolie Myers of Kannapolis; a brother, David Honeycutt of Rock well; and six grandchildren. Benton and Son Construction and Development Company. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sandra Ann Lee Benton; a son, Anthony Earl Benton Jr. of Shallotte; a daughter. SIMMONS John Henry Simmons, 75, of Sycamore Street, Conway, S.C., died July 17 at his home after an ill ness. Born in Loris, S.C., he was a son of the late Albert Dorus and Jenny Raspberry Stephens Simmons. He was a retired watchmaker and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include a daughter, Sonja Doby of Conway; a brother, Robert Simmons of Chesapeake. Rockingham, died July 19 at Britthaven of Hamlet. He was born Oct. 31, 1904, in Montgomery County, a son of the late Claude and Ellie Lake Saunders. He was retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation after 45 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Andrews Saunders, Aug. 15, 1973. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ralph Mac Lean. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery.
