This year's festival will feature seafood delights, arts and crafts, live musical entertainment, and the famous Oyster Shucking Contest. A major draw for the festival is oysters, cooked in a variety of ways. Shrimp, fried fish, coleslaw and hushpuppies will be plentiful. Other fun-filled events include a Road Race at Holden Beach and a Bullshooting Contest to ^choose the best storyteller. Join the fun Oct. 1 4 & 1 5 at the 1 4th annual^ N.C. Oyster Festival held at Seaside at the intersection of Hwys. 904 and 179. Sponsored by the South Brunswick Islands Chamber of Commerce, this event is a tribute to a fall favorite... fresh oysters! The Fabulous Kays will perform their brand of high-energy Top-40, Beach, Rock & Roll and Funk. A dynamic 3-piece horn section, 4 lead vocalists and superb choreography make The Kays a unique force in the music scene. ? Sponsored by the Greater Holden Beach Merchants' Association, this festival begins with a Halloween carnival on Friday night.
