October GED Test Dates Scheduled For Three Sites Last year 116 adults earned a GED, considered by many employ ers to be the equivalent of a high school diploma, through Brunswick Community College. For other adults interested in do ing the same thing, BCC offers GED testing throughout October at three locations in the county. The college also offers GED classes and a learn ing lab. Test dates are as follows: Main campus. Supply: All GED tests except the writing test will be offered Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m., and again Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 5 p.m. The writing test only will be offered Tuesday. Oct. 4, at 5 p.m. Southport Campus: All tests Winnabow VFD Sets Oct. 1 BBQ Winnabow Volunteer Fire De partment will serve barbecue din ners on Saturday, Oct 1, from 1 1 a.m. until S p.m. Plates will consist of pork bar becue, potato salad, cole slaw and bush puppies. Coat will be S3 or $4.50 for a "super plate." The department is on Gover nor's Road off U S. 17 in Win nabow. Refresher Course For Aides Siated A nursing assistant refresher course will be held in mid-October at Brunswick Community College's main campus near Supply. Those who successfully complete the course, including a written and skills examination, will he listed as Level I Nurse Aides on the North Carolina Central Nurse Registry. Class members will meet Tues day. Oct II, rbursday. Oct. 13. and Tuesday, Oct 18 from from 1 p.m to 6 p.m. each day in Room 113 (Nursing l.ab) in the BCC Class room Building Bern icc Lewis.
