Long Beach Will Host 'Family Fest' On Oct. 8 The town of Long Beach will sponsor the Long Beach Family Fest on Saturday, Oct. 8. Continuous entertainment in E.F. Middleton Park is scheduled from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Performances ate planned by ihe Brunswick County Concert Band, bell-ringers, dancers, doggers, church choirs and storytellers. Food will be served by the Oak Island Elks Club. Games of skill will be offered, along with a "dunk ing booth" where town officials are expected to find themselves "in the chair." Proceeds go to the Long Beach Recreation Center expansion fund. An installation meeting will be held at the Western Sizzlin' Steak House in Southport at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29. Coastal Concert Association Announces Six Performances A performance by the Slovak Symphony on Oct. 18 will open the Coastal Concert Association's 1994 95 series.
