Hospital Plans HealthFest
With Information , Testing
Loris Community Hospital will
sponsor "HealthFest '94 on Satiu
day, Nov. 12, from 8 a.m. until noon
at the hospital.
HealthFest will provide opportu
nities for reduced-fee screenings and
information on health and wellness
resources in the area.
Free health screening such as
blood pressure, pulmonary oximetry,
height, weight and posture will be
available. Fees will be reduced for
CBC (complete blood count), PSA
(prostatic specific antigen), Panel 18
(18 different biuod tests) and pap
smears.
Those planning to have laboratory
blood tests done should fast for 12
hours prior to the test to get accurate
results. Only sips of water are rec
ommended. Diabetics should bring
food or juice to take immediately
following the tests. Those currently
taking any type of medication
should consult a physician before
having tests performed in order to
understand the effects the medica
tion may have on the results.
Information booths will be set up
with information about hospital ser
vices, departments and activities.

begins Monday, Nov. 7. To register,
