Monroe and Emma Ross Campbell
Sr. He was a retired golf profession
al with the Professional Golf Asso
ciation.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell
Sparks Campbell of the home; three
sons, James L Campbell and Bobby
Young, both of Shallotte, and Billy
Ray Campbell of Fuquay-Varina; a
daughter. Paula C. McNeil of Shal
lotte; two brothers, Donald and
Robert Campbell, both of Charlotte;
three sisters. Dean Vinesett and Jean
Goforth, both of Charlotte, Marlene
Campbell of Mobile, Ala.; and six
grandchildren.

11 in the Brunswick Funeral Service

Nelson J. Stem of Blue Heron
Drive, Wilmington, died Nov. 8 in
New Hanover Regional Medical
Center. ,
He was bom in Philadelphia, Pa.,
Nov. 2, 1907, the son of the late
William A. and Emily W. Berger
Stern. He was preceded in death by
his wife, Ethel Cain Stem.
Mr. Stem was a member of
Southport Presbyterian Church. He
was a member of the Pocono Mas
onic Lodge 780 in Cresco, Pa., for
50 years.
Memorial services were held Nov.
14 in the Andrews Mortuary Market
Street Chapel by the Rev. Frank
Elliott.
JAMES BRASWELL
James "Frank" Braswell Jr., 55, of
Conway, S.C., died Nov. 9 in an ac
cident on Ocean Isle Beach.
Bom in Georgetown, S.C., he was
a son of Hyacinth Bruorton Braswell
Rosenau and the late James
Francum Braswell.
He was a member of New Hope
Missionary Baptist Church. He was
a Vietnam veteran and retired from
the Navy as petty officer first class.
He was the owner of National
Pastime Baseball Cards.
Survivors include his wife, Linda
McGovern Braswell; his mother of
Conway; three sons, Dwaine Bras
well of Menomonie, Wis., Scott
Braswell of Coyote, Wyo., and
Darryl Braswell of Conway; two
daughters, LaDonna B. Jordan of
Menomonie, Wis., and Christina
Hucks of Conway; three sisters,
Judith Martin of Sanford, Fla.,
Jeanette Rowers of Stayton, Ore.,
and Joan Suyserie of Rickreall, Ore.;
and nine grandchildren.
The funeral was held Nov. 12 in
New Hope Missionary Baptist
Church with the Rev. Lee Singleton
and the Rev. Ben Doyle officiating.
Burial was in Good Hope United
Methodist Church Cemetery, with
full military honors.

Daniel Lee Thompson, 71, of
River Road, Winnabow, died Nov.
12 at Britthaven of Wilmington.
Mr. Thompson was borti in Bla
den County on June 10, 1923, and
was the son of the late Cecil Gordon
and Katie Ward Thompson. He was
a member of Farmer's Chapel,
Maco.
Survivors include a son, Cecil
Lennon Thompson and wife Audrey
of Winnabow; a sister, Margaret
Cocker and husband Johnny of
Lcland; and two grandchildren.

Barbara Frances Huggins, 59, of
Kilgart Drive, Ocean Isle Beach,
died Nov. 13 in The Brunswick
Hospital. Born in Dillon, S.C., on
Sept. 1, 1935, she was a daughter of
the late Joseph T. and Maggie
Barfield Scott.
She was a member of Jennies
Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband,
J.C. Huggins of the home; two sons,
James (Mike) Michael Huggins of
the home and Robert (Robbie) Wade
Huggins of Brandon, Fla.; two
daughters, Jacqueline H. Everett of
Charlotte and Anita H. Willetts of
Wilmington; two sisters, Dollie
Parker of Sunset Beach and Donnic
West of Erwin; eight grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were scheduled
for Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. in
the Chapel of Brunswick Funeral
Service with the Rev. Herman
Absher officiating. Burial was to
follow in Brunswick Memorial
Gardens.

Clyde Scott Wiley Sr., 73, of Sea
shore Road, Supply, died Nov. 10 at
his home.
Mr. Wiley was bom in Toccoa.
Ga., on Aug. 8, 1921, and was the
son of the late Jet Dean and Cora
Scott Wiley. He was an active mem
ber and deacon of Boones Neck
Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy
veteran serving during World War
II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary
K. Wiley of the home; a son, Scott
Wiley Jr. of Neptune Beach, Fla.;
two daughters, Alda Sheckelis and
Melba McCue, both of Neptune
Beach, Fla.; two stepsons, Randy
Simpson of Woodstock, Ga., and
Mitchell Simpson of High Point;
three brothers, Wilson Wiley of
Asheboro, Harold Wiley of Ft.
