The bridegroom is the son of
Katie Robinson Kirby of Supply and
the late Joseph Bryan Kirby.
The bride is the daughter of Ver
non B. and Thelma G. Wright of
Fairview.
The bridegroom is a graduate of
Shallottc High School and is semi
retired from the military and Federal
Aviation Administration with the
Air Traffic Control Division. He is a
member of the Ashevillc Chapter of
Toastmastcrs International and the
Buncombe East Chapter of Gideon
International. He is currently em
ployed with Woodcock Ford Motors
in Black Mountain as a service asso
ciate.
The bride is a graduate of A.C.
Reynolds High School in Ashevillc
and attended Asheville-Buncombe
Technical College. She is employed
with First Commercial Bank in
Ashevillc as operations officer and
has been in banking for 28 years.
She is currently serving as president
of the Western North Carolina Bank
Administration Institute. She was
1992 Woman of tlje Year for Sky-Hy
Chapter of the American Business
Women's Association. She also
serves on the board of Western
North Carolina Financial Security
Organization, United Way of Ashe
ville and the March of Dimes.

Meeting For Stroke
Support Group
The Stroke Support Group of
Grand Strand Regional Medical
Center has suspended its November
meeting because of the Thanks
giving holiday.
The group is sponsored by the
hospital to serve as an educational
forum and support group both for
those who have suffered a stroke
and their relatives or caregivers. It is
free and open to the public.
Meetings usually take place on the
fourth Wednesday of each month
from 3-5 p.m. in the hospital's class
room.

For Hospital Cooking Class
Loris Community Hospital will
sponsor a "Healthy Holidays with
Family and Friends" cooking class
on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 6:30 p.m.
in the Courtyard Cafe.

and hints and samples of prepared
hors d'oeuvres, finger desserts and

Chinese Acrobats To Perform
On Thalian Hall Main Stage
The Incredible Acrobats of China
will bring history, pageantry and
feats of balancc and skill to the main
stage of Thalian Hall on Saturday,
Nov. 19.
Performances are scheduled for
10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The show from the People's
Republic of China will be suitable
for families. A narrator will relate
the history of the ancient art, per
formed in China for more than 2,(XX)
years, while the acrobats bring the
feats to life on stage.
Directed by Li Jian, director of the
Zhu Ma Dian Acrobatic Troupe,
each part of "The Legend of the
Chinese Acrobats" is authentically
costumed, choreographed and scored
according to its historical setting.
Among the feats to be demonstrat
ed are the Pagoda of Bowls, juggling
on a tall unicyclc, wire-walking,
flagpole juggling, barrel contortion
and "Juggling of the Flying Trident
hv the Mtmkey King. "
