Lower Cape Fear Hospice will host Love Light Tree
lighting ceremonies during December at three Bruns
wick County sites.
The trees ? on the grounds of The Brunswick Hosp
ital, Dosher Memorial Hospital and on N.C. 904 across
from Seaside Plaza ? raise funds for Lower Cape Fear
Hospice while honoring or memorializing the person
of the donor's choice.
"For a donation of $5 or more, you may sponsor a
light on the tree in honor or memory ot someone you
love or admire," said Lower Cape Fear Hospice
spokesman Susan Ritz. "For a donation of $25 or
more, you may sponsor a light on the star atop the tree.
A card will be sent to notify the honoree or loved one
of your gift of thoughtful ness."
Names arc placed in a Book of Honor to be dis
played in the two hospital lobbies and at the Century
21 Sunset Realty office in Sunset Beach.
The tree-lighting ceremonies are scheduled as fol
lows:
? Monday, Dec. 5, 6:30, The Brunswick Hospital;
? Tuesday, Dec. 6, 7 p.m., Dosher Memorial
Hospital;
? Tuesday, Dec. 13, 6 p.m., N.C. 904 across from
Seaside Plaza.
Lower Cape Fear Hospice provides care and support
for terminally ill people and their families. Hospice
functions as a team of nurses, home health aides, social
workers, bereavement counselors and medical direc
tors.
Brunswick Animal League Annual
Meeting Planned November 30
Brunswick Animal League will
hold its annual meeting and election
of officers on Wednesday, Nov. 30,
at 1 p.m. in the meeting room of
Atlantic Telephone, N.C. 130 West,
Shallotte.
Spokesman Alma Tolson said the
group will discuss "making 1995
better than ever to help unwanted an
imals from being born through our
low-cost spay and neuter program."
Tolson said more than 5,000 ani
mals were put to death this year at
the Brunswick County animal shel
ter. "That is a very sad story for this
county and its pet owners," she
added.
The Animal League accepts tax
deductible contributions to support
its spay-and-neuter efforts. "The
program is designed to help those
who cannot afford to pay veterinary
costs reduce the births of unwanted
animals," Tolson said.
Many notification of membership
dues were returned to the Animal
League because of changes of ad
dresses, she said. Members who did
