The Rev. Jeffrey Johnson, associate pas tor, presided. Tlie bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Matthews Jr. of Yaupon Beach. She is a graduate of South Brunswick High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She teaches first grade at Bolivia Elementary School. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Howell of John sonville, S.C. He is a graduate of South Brunswick High School and attends Brunswick Community Col lege. He is employed at Brunswick Town State Historic Site. The bride, given in marriage by her parents, was escorted by her fa ther. She wore an ivory gown with jeweled Alencon lace bodice featur ing a scalloped Sabrina neckline, long tapered sleeves and deep V back. The scalloped drop waist ac cented the full taffeta skirt which led to a chapel-length train with jeweled window motifs. She carried a bouquet of rubrum lilies with white freesia, accented with touches of English ivy. Maid of honor was the bride's sis ter, June Matthews. Bridesmaids were Mari-Frances KJine of Wilm ington, Rennie Powell of Long Beach and Kelly Lambert of Wilm ington. They wore cerise shantung two-piece dresses with short-sleeved jackets accented with sweetheart necklines and beaded pearl buttons. Their jackets were complemented by straight, tea-length skirts. The groom's father was best man. Ushers were the groom's brothers, Noel Howell of Charleston, S.C., and Joel Howell of San Diego, Calif., and the bride's brother, John Matthew of Raleigh. A reception was held in the Southport Community Building. The couple honeymooned in Will iamsburg, Va., and will live in Win nabow. Homes Tour, Flotilla On Tap In Southport Southport-Oak Island's Christmas By The Sea Festival continues this week with a calendar full of activi ties aimed at getting participants in to the holiday spirit. On Saturday, Dec. 10, the focus of festival activities will be in down town Scuthpcrt for tuv juuuipuii Tour of Homes and Port Charlie's Holiday Flotilla. The tour, sponsored by Southport 2000 Inc., a downtown revitalization group, will take place from 5-9 p.m. and will feature four historic homes, one modern home, four public buildings ? including Franklin Square Art Gallery and Southport Maritime Museum ? and a horse and-buggy ride. Tickets will cost $7 per person through Dec. 7 and $8 per person Dec. 8-10. They can be purchased at Southport Maritime Museum, Southport Visitor's Center or the Southport-Oak Island Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center. Port Charlie's Holiday Flotilla will pass by Waterfront Park, South port, Saturday at 7 p.m. On Sunday. Dec.
