Deaths And Funerals EDNA LEWIS HEWETT Edna Lewis Hewett of Mill Creek Road, Bolivia, died Dec. 8 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born in Brunswick County and was the daughter of the late Cratie Shirk and Lina Beck Lewis. She was a member r>f MiH Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Sam my Hewett and wife Mable Clemmons Hewett, Edward Hewett and wife Jeannette S. Hewett, all of Bolivia; a daughter. Mavis Hewett Palmeter and husband Edward Lee Palmeter of Bolivia; three grandchil dren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services were held Dec. 10 in the Willctts Cemetery, Bolivia, with Dr. Bill Bennett, pastor of First Baptist Church of Leland, officiating. ROSALEE BLOCKER LEDET Rosalee "Aunt Rose" Ledet, 76, of 64th Street, Long Beach, died Dec. 8 at her residence. Funeral services were held Dec. 10 at Peacock -Newnam Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Douglas Huff officiating. Burial was in Cape Fear Memorial Park. Mrs. Ledet was born Feb. 21. 1918, in Pierce, Fla.. daughter of the late Bud and Lillie Blocker. She moved here from New Orleans, La., in 1978. She retired from K&B Drug Store in New Orleans and was a member of Women of the Moose. Survivors include a son, Richard Earl Ledet of Yaupon Beach; a daughter, Kathy Dozicr of Mandcvillc, La.; and a grandson, Justin Walker Ledet of Yaupon Beach. Leno, 96, of Calabash Hiprf Dec 11 at Myrtle Beach Man or Born Dec. 28, 1897, in Frankfort, N.Y., he was a son of the late Michael and Mary Leno. He was the widower of Jennie R. La Regina Leno. Mr. Leno lived in Calabash with his daughter and son-in-law and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Frankfort, N.Y. He was employed with Remington Rand and later Sperry Univac in Ilion, N.Y., until his retirement in 1962. Survivors include a daughter, Ma rie Terzo of Calabash; four grand children, three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at V.J. locovozzi Funeral Home in Frankfort, N.Y., and again at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, where the Rev. The play is directed by Rita Ramphal and depicts scenes of cur rent reactions to Christmas, occa sionally reflecting on the birth of Jesus 2,000 years ago. Sequel At Shell Point Shell Point Baptist Church will present a musical drama, "Another Smoky Mountain Christmas Story ? A Change of Heart," on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 6:30 p.m. This year's program is the sequel to last year's "Smoky Mountain Christmas ? The Gift." Musk To Accompany Live Nativity Scene The choir of St. James the Fisherman Episcopal Church, Shal lotte, will present an extensive pro gram of music to accompany its live nativity from 7-9 p.m. on Dec. 22 and 23. The program will range from fea tured inspirational anthems and car ols by both choir and soloists to gospel music and solemn chants. The chorus or soloists will sing for much of the two-hour period, with only short intermissions. The public is invited. The church is at 4941 Main St., Shallotte. A news release submitted by the St. James publicity committee last week gave the incorrect time for the live nativity scene. 7 Light Your WoHd' The Christmas drama "Light Your World" will be presented by the dra ma troupe of Harvest Fellowship on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. The public is welcome.
