ENTERTAIN AT TEA FOR BRIDE-ELECT Misses Kuth Hollowell, Polly Tui-k-er and Marguerite Ward were host esses at a lovely tea Tuesday after noon from 4 to 6 o'clock, at the home of, Miss Hollowell, honoring Miss Ann Felton, bride-elect. .' The lower floor of the home was loVely with Christmas greens and lighted red tapers in silver holders. The dining table was covered with an exquisite hand-made crocheted cloth. Dainty sandwiches, cookies, cheese wafers, nuts and mints were served. Miss Polly Tucker presided at the punch bowl. Guests were: Mrs. J. O. The Community House was beauti fully decorated with an imitation fireplace, lighted tapers and a Christmas tree. Holly and ever greens added to the beauty of the decorations. Games and contests weie enjoyed. At the end of the evening Mr. and Mrs. Mayes were presented a set of crystal goblets by the Circle as a surprise gift, it being their 31st wedding anniversary. YOUNG PEOPLE ENTERTAINED A Christmas party for young people was given by Dr. I. A. Ward at the Hertford Baptist Church on Monday evening. The affair was planned by Mrs. Howard G. Dawkins and was greatly enjoyed by those attending. After various stunts and games Mrs. Charles Johnson ami Mrs. T. E. Raper served delicious refreshments. Those attending were Dorothy Elliott, Bertha Mae White, Wally Mayes, Geneva Jo White, Eugenia Gregory, Dr. and Mrs. I. A. Ward, Rev. and Mrs. Howard G. Dawkins, Mesdames Clinton Eley, W. F. Ains ley, T. E. Raper and Charles Johnson. CHRISTMAS GUESTS Mrs. R. A. Perry entertained a number of friends and relatives at her home on Christmas Day. Stokes was a charming hostess to members of her bridge club on Tuesday evening at her home jii Church Street. Those enjoying the evening were Mesdames George Barbee, Charles M. Williford, Charles E. Johnson, T. L. Jessup, Carroll P. Holmes, Misses Mary Sumner and Helen Morgan. High score prize was awarded Mrs. Holmes, low went to Mrs. Barbee and the floating prize was received by Mrs. Johnson.
