From Chapel Hill Mrs. Jimmy Johnson and daugh ter from Chapel Hill are visiting Mrs. J. G. Roberson. Mr. Johnson will ar rive this week to spend a few days. DELLA SHAMBERGERS MEET , The Delia Shamberger Missionary Society of the Methodist Church met Monday evening with Mrs. W. H. Pitt Mrs. Lindsay Winslow had charge of the business. Mrs. C. T. Skjnner gave the program. There were 12 members and one visitor present. The hostess served dainty refreshments after the meeting. MINNIE WILSONS MEET The Minnie Wilson Missionary So ciety of the Methodist Church met Monday evening with Mrs. Henry Stokes. Mrs. B. C. Reavis had charge of the business meeting. Mrs. Haines gave a very inspiring devotional. There were 21 members present and 4 visitors. After the meeting the hostess served refreshments. Saturday Here Mr. and Mrs. Cally Campen of Portsmouth spent Saturday with Mrs. Jane Campen. Returned To Indiana J. C. Campbell and Charles D. Campbell, who have spent some time with Mr. and Mrs. Max Campbell, re turned to Shelbyville, Ind., Wednesday. ROOK PARTY Mrs. 'Jim Bass entertained her rook club Wednesday evening at her home. Those playing were Mesdames Ross Ingram, Jimmy Stallings, Arthur White, Tom Cox, Martin Towe, Ed gar Fields, Willie Ainsley. High score prize went to Mrs. Ingram, sec ond high was awarded Mrs. White, low went to Mrs. Cox and floating prize to Mrs. Fields. A salad course was served. HOSTESS TO BRIDGE CLUB ready to greet her with "Happy Birthday" upon her arrival. Birthday decorations were used in the dining room and a delicious din ner of ham, chicken, salads, pickles, vegetables, hot rolls, corn bread, bis cuits, coffee, iced tea, pound cake and ambrosia with whipped cream was served and very much enjoyed. STUDY GROUP MEETS The Study Group of the Perquim ans Central Grammar School Parent Teacher Association met at the home of Mrs. Clifton Morgan of the Cum berland community. The meeting opened with singing "Jesus Will." The devotional was given by Mrs. Clifton Morgan. The lesson "Getting Rid of Prejudice" was given by Mrs. Joseph Winslow of the Bagley Swamp community. Mrs. Carl Godwin gave "The Outstanding Points of the Fam ily In Building the Future." Ques tions were then discussed together. Mrs. Junior Miller dismissed the group with a prayer. Ice cream and cake were served to those present, who included Mes dames Junior Miller, Joseph Wins low, Dennis Winslow, Wallace Mor gan, Carl Godwin, Clifton Morgan, Wallace Morgan and Messrs.
