' - LIONESS AUXILIARY MEI2TS f The Lioness Auxiliary of the Hert ford Lions Club met at the home of Mrs. Edna Eley on Friday evening, April 9, at 8 o clock. In the absence of the president, Mrs. Dorothy Bass, the first vice president, Mrs. Minnie W. Hurdle conducted a brief program and also a very successful business session. , - After the minutes of the last meet ing were read and approved and the roll checked, the visitors were wel corned by the acting president The new officers appointed were as fol lows-: Mrs. Ruby White, Lion Tamer; Mrs. Irene Byrum, Director: Mrs. Anna Lee McGoogan, Program Chair man. Mrs. rasciiia Jueonard was elected to be Second Vice President and' Mrs?' Anna Lee McGoogan for Third Vice President. ' . The constitution and by-laws were presented and unanimously adopted. At this point Charlie Vann, president of the Hertford Lions Club, gave a very inspiring talk 'concerning the work of the local Lions Club and then in behalf of the club presented the 18 charter members with Lions pins, which the idoness graciously acknowledged. Norman' Trueblood, secretary of the Hertford Lions Club, gave a brier taiK also on uonism which proved very helpful. It was decided that the May meet- ng would be a joint-meeting with the Lions Club on Ladies" Night The meeting was thus adjourned, after which the hostess served delicious, re freshments. , Mrs.' W. BELCH The regular meeting of the Center fill Home Demonstration Club was held April 1 at 3 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Medlin Belch, with Mrs. J. T. White, the president, presiding. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved, the roll called and dues collected. Mrs. White arranged a North Caro lina program and those taking part were Mrs. J. C. Boyce, Mrs. W. C. Francis, Mrs. Emmett P. Jones and Mrs. Robert Boyce. The club voted to send packages of ood and clothing to two needy fami lies in Netherlands, the packages to be made up at the May meeting.
